Postcard from Turkey: Part 2 – Hand-Picked Treasures from Istanbul

Greetings from Istanbul, friends! Our journey continues, and I'm thrilled to share some of the magical moments we experienced during our stay in this vibrant city also known as "the city of cats"--meow!  We made Sultanahmet our home base, staying at the stunning Ajwa Hotel. I cannot recommend it enough! The architecture is breathtaking, a perfect blend of traditional Ottoman charm and modern luxury. Here's a glimpse of the lobby—a true masterpiece of history and artistry.

One of the highlights of this trip was meeting with four of our long-time suppliers—partners we’ve been sourcing from for over six years. It was a true joy to finally sit with them face to face, get a deeper sense of their personalities, and hand-pick some truly unique vintage rugs. These are the pieces I’m most excited to bring to District Loom, each chosen with you in mind. I tried my best to focus on all-over motifs to make styling with furniture placement seemless. AND, I kept my eye out for really unique colorways and motifs. Colorful rugs light my heart on fire, so I for sure did my best to source BOTH neutrals, earth tones and bold colors.

We also took in the incredible sights of Istanbul—the Hagia Sophia, a marvel of Byzantine architecture, left me in awe. Another unforgettable moment was cruising the Bosphorus during the Bosphorus Cup, a scenic and exciting celebration of sailing amidst the city’s rich history. And let’s not forget the food—Mediterranean flavors so fresh and vibrant, every meal was a delight for the senses.

Now, here's the best part: As we prepare to welcome over 100 new arrivals from this trip, I’m offering our first-ever Buy One, Get One 50% off event. Head to the website and shop your favorite finds to help us make room for these special pieces. I can’t wait for you to see the unique designs, colors, and prices that will surprise you!

Stay tuned for more stories and sneak peeks of the treasures we've found. In the photo above, I'm sourcing for our Anthropologie partnership collaboration collection.  See you online, and thank you for continuing to support District Loom's journey!
