Curator Note: An oversized antique Persian Serapi that owns the room from the ground up—bold in scale and unmistakable in presence, among the most coveted of the Heriz family for their graphic geometry and durability. What sets this one apart is the rare infusion of French blue—coveted, collected, and striking against the warmth of the field—woven in Northwest Iran on the slopes of Mount Sabalan, where the copper-rich mountain water is said to produce exceptionally strong, lustrous wool.
